Underwater Photography Course - Testimonial Matt Weiss

Jeff has been instrumental in my progression as an underwater photographer. I first came to Jeff as a frustrated point-and-shoot novice, struggling with a faulty camera and a faultier understanding of photography... especially Underwater Photography. Being the "MacGyver of Underwater Photography," Jeff not only was able to fix my camera, but also very patiently deal with my ignorance. Within the first lesson from Jeff, I went from shooting pictures that not even my mother could pretend to like, to being able to handle my rig with the proper understanding of how to shoot well lit, well composed images. From then on, I was hooked. Within a year I upgraded to a dSLR and began working for one of the largest underwater photography websites: DivePhotoGuide. It was through DivePhotoGuide that I was able to reconnect with Jeff again, as an assignment took me to Bali. I made it a priority to spend more time with Jeff, and learned even more this time around. I am in the process of planning my next trip to Bali, and without any doubt, I will be visiting Jeff with new problems and new things to learn. In short, a recipe for good photographic success is a digital camera, combined with lessons from Jeff Mullins, mixed in with Tulamben's Reef, Wreck & Critter dives, seasoned with a sprinkle of Dawn's (Jeff''s wife) advice and generosity. I am happy to call Jeff my friend, and thankful to call him my mentor. Matt Weiss - USA Nikon D100 - Subal Housing - Sea&Sea YS110 Strobes |
